About me

Courtney Horner is a multidisciplinary artist, composer, and musician based in Upstate New York. They studied music composition at Oberlin College and performed in the Oberlin Soundpainting Ensemble. After becoming enamored by live composition and moving to Ithaca, New York, which did not yet have a soundpainting presence, they founded Soundpainting Ithaca. Courtney combines their interests of music, storytelling, natural environment, and sense of place by creating pieces that connect performers and audience alike with their environment and explore continuity and change, creativity and collaboration.
